An important meeting took place at the White House between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Central Asian countries. This meeting indicates that there may be a serious change in Washington's foreign policy.
During the summit in the "C5+1" format, Trump emphasized the strategic importance of the region. According to him, previous US administrations did not pay enough attention to Central Asia, but the current leadership aims to correct this historic mistake.
The leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting. Donald Trump described Central Asia as the heart of the ancient Great Silk Road and noted that today it has enormous developmental opportunities.
"It is a great honor for me to meet with the leaders sitting here. Very few people can reach their level," said Trump.
Economic and military-technical cooperation issues were the main topics of negotiations. The US president highlighted the major trade deals signed in recent months, stating that among them is the delivery of US military technology to the region.
In addition, they discussed ways to reduce dependence on China by strengthening economic security, including cooperation on the extraction and supply of critical minerals. The agenda also included issues of international significance.
Trump specifically highlighted the peace agreement recently reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan with US mediation. "In eight months, we have resolved eight military conflicts and have made significant progress toward ending the war between Russia and Ukraine," he said.
Trump stressed the role of the US as a guarantor of global stability. At the same time, a major infrastructure project called the "Trump Road to International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) was presented.
This transport route is intended to pass through Armenia and open a new corridor for Central Asian states to European markets. It could significantly increase trade flows through the Caspian Sea.
One of the key events at the meeting was the official accession of Kazakhstan to the "Abraham Accords". According to Trump, this step will contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the broader region.
In his closing speech, the US president once again emphasized the importance of reliable and partnership relations with Central Asian countries. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
