In the Tashkent region, a cyber group that deceived hundreds of citizens online has been exposed, according to the Main Department of Internal Affairs.
Reports state that four individuals offered a so-called “limit service” via Telegram and Instagram, embezzling over 1 billion soums from nearly 600 citizens.
B.N., born in 2005, and his accomplices promised to “cash out credit limits” issued by microfinance institutions. Exploiting citizens’ trust, they used a company they had registered to carry out transactions on online trade platforms and directed the funds for personal gain.
As a result of swift operations, the group’s activities were stopped. A criminal case has been opened under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” (fraud) of the Criminal Code.
The suspects have been detained, and investigations continue to recover the damages and identify other individuals involved.
