Yuri Dud was sentenced in absentia to 1 year and 10 months in a colony

Yuri Dud (recognized as a foreign agent) was sentenced in absentia to one year and ten months in a general regime colony. The court found him guilty of evading the duties of a foreign agent, TASS reports.

At the end of June, at the initiative of the Moscow prosecutor's office, a criminal case was initiated against the journalist under Article 330.1 of the Russian Criminal Code. Twice during the year, the foreign agent was brought to administrative responsibility for distributing unidentified materials.

The Ministry of Justice recognized Yuri Dud as a foreign agent in July 2022. The reason for this was that the journalist was engaged in monetization on YouTube and did not put the necessary symbols when quoting other foreign agents.
