Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a new law further strengthening responsibility for sabotage. The BBC reported this.
According to the document, criminal liability for subversive crimes now begins at the age of 14. Furthermore, inciting or involving minors in such actions entails life imprisonment.
According to the source, the changes will equalize the sanctions for sabotage with Russia's legislation on terrorism. That is, the possibility of imposing a suspended sentence has been abolished, the term of punishment cannot be applied less than the minimum limit, and the convict cannot be released on parole without serving at least 75% of his sentence.
The new law aims to further strengthen the fight against this type of crime in the country.
