In India, a severe punishment assigned by a teacher ended the life of a 12-year-old girl. According to NDTV, a student named Kajal Gond was forced to perform 100 sit-stand exercises because she arrived at school 10 minutes late. After the punishment, she began experiencing strong back pain, and her condition worsened throughout the day.
The girl was first admitted to a hospital in Nallasopara, and then, due to her condition worsening, she was transferred to a hospital in Mumbai. However, despite the doctors’ efforts, she died during treatment.
Kajal’s parents stated that it was the teacher’s punishment that caused the tragedy. According to them, while performing the 100 sit-stand exercises, the girl did not remove her school bag from her shoulder, and this intensified her pain.
In media reports, the exact cause of death has not yet been announced. It is also not reported with what diagnosis she was admitted to the hospital, how long she stayed there, or whether she had any pre-existing medical conditions.
