The execution of two entrepreneurs in North Korea has shocked the public

In North Korea, two entrepreneurs, accused of "anti-republican activity," were publicly executed after their success increased and they were deemed "proud." According to the Daily Mail, hundreds of people, including schoolchildren, were forced to watch the execution in Pyongyang.
According to reports, entrepreneurs around 50 years old were engaged in the sale, repair, and rental of electric bicycles, spare parts for battery-powered motorcycles, and regular bicycles. Although they are officially registered through the trade unions of Sadong District, they are known among the local population as "big leaders" due to their high income.
However, some citizens expressed dissatisfaction due to their excessively high prices, low quality of goods, and arrogant behavior.
As a result, the entrepreneurs were accused of violating the law "On Reactionary Opinion and Non-Acceptance of Culture," as well as cooperating with external organizations for illegal currency circulation and the dissemination of anti-state information.
According to reports, they were arrested in August, interrogated together, and sentenced to death in early September. Another 20 people associated with entrepreneurs were either sent to exile or sent to "re-education" in labor camps.
According to sources, the execution was carried out in an open area, and the population was forced to gather.
"At least 200 people gathered there, including children. "The students were released from class and were forced to watch the execution," said one of the witnesses.
Officials stated that this punishment was carried out "to prevent economic disorder and teach a lesson to the community." According to analysts, this event indicates the state's desire to further strengthen control over private business and limit external relations.
The time of the execution is also noteworthy: it took place shortly after Kim Jong Un's trip to China ended. Sources note that through this, the government signaled to the team that "internal discipline must not be violated even with external cooperation."
After the incident, sales in the market declined sharply, businesses belonging to entrepreneurs went bankrupt, and the price of batteries and spare parts rose sharply or did not sell at all.
