Uzbekistan among the safest countries in the terrorism index

According to the 2025 “Global Terrorism Index” published by the Australian Institute for Economics and Peace, Uzbekistan has been ranked among the safest countries in the world. It is stated that the country placed 90th in terms of terrorism risk and surpassed several developed nations in overall safety.

The report notes that Uzbekistan is considered safer than the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, as well as Russia, China, Tajikistan, the UAE and Turkey. Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan ranked around the 100th position.

The report also highlights a negative global trend. The number of countries where terrorist attacks were recorded increased from 58 to 66 within a year. In Western countries, attacks rose by 63 percent — Sweden, Australia, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland experienced terrorist incidents for the first time in more than five years.

The most critical situation in Europe was recorded in Germany — following the attack at the Magdeburg fair, the country fell to the 27th position. In simple terms, it has become a “high-risk zone.”

Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Syria and Israel were included among the ten most dangerous countries.
