Police in Derbyshire, England, received several reports about an abandoned dog. According to NDTV, the "pet" turned out to be a toy deer.
Several concerned local residents contacted the police, asking them to search for the "small, ugly-looking dog" abandoned by the roadside. "Officers received a description of a small, ugly-looking dog tied up near the intersection throughout the day," local law enforcement agencies reported on social media.
When they arrived at the place reported by the witnesses, they could not find any dogs. Instead, they found a toy deer that distracted several locals.
Police later stated that Santa Claus's assistant was simply "resting after the test flight." "After receiving several severe warnings for being seen in mid-November, the officers left him to rest," the police joked.
