The "Anti-Terror" Operation in the West Bank
The Israeli army is conducting extensive house-to-house inspections in Tubas, Tammun, Aqaba, and other towns in the West Bank. Military bulldozers have blocked all roads leading into Tubas with earth barriers, while "Apache" helicopters are firing warning shots into empty areas around Tubas. The number of casualties in the West Bank has sharply increased since the start of the war in Gaza. More than a thousand Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the last two years. Israeli officials call this action a “counter-terrorism operation,” while HAMAS assesses it as a policy of “ethnic cleansing.”
Ultimatum Against “Hezbollah”
On November 26, Israeli Defense Minister Katz issued a firm warning regarding the situation in Lebanon. He stated that if "Hezbollah" is not disarmed by the end of the year, Israel will be forced to expand military actions into Lebanese territory. A similar disarmament demand was also placed on the Lebanese government by the US in August. Israeli officials are concerned that "Hezbollah" is secretly smuggling hundreds of rockets from Syria and is recovering very quickly.
The Group’s Stronghold
According to experts, "Hezbollah" possesses underground infrastructure, experienced command, and stable supplies from Iran. These factors make the complete destruction of the group in a short time almost impossible. As the year draws to a close, the likelihood of a further escalation of the situation on the Israel-Lebanon border is increasing.
