The Riyadh metro has gone down in history as one of the largest transport projects in the capital of Saudi Arabia. This was reported by the Arabi Today publication. Riyadh's transport system has been included in the Guinness Book of World Records for its self-propelled train network. The length of the metro is 176 kilometers, making it the longest self-propelled train system in the world.
This record represents Saudi Arabia's efforts to create a modern and sustainable transport system. The metro consists of 6 major routes, each with very high-level technologies. It has 85 modern stations and a fully automated system.
Also, trains on the network operate without a driver, who is fully controlled through central dispatch rooms. As a result, the safety and quality of the metro operation have been further improved.
