Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the US and Russian delegations' talks in the Kremlin, simultaneously addressed the people and partners, stating his firm stance on the terms of ending the war. The main points he made during his meetings with European leaders, published on his Telegram channel, were as follows:
Easy solutions are not expected: "We do not expect easy solutions to achieve peace. Currently, a complex negotiation process is underway, and Ukraine will not achieve peace at the expense of its national interests. The war must end justly."
The territorial issue is the most difficult: "The most difficult issue in negotiations remains the territorial issue. The Ukrainian people will never recognize the transfer of occupied territories to Russia. Territorial integrity is the basis of international law, and we will not back down in this regard."
Security guarantees are important: "Peace should be not just a temporary ceasefire, but truly lasting and long-term. For this, Western countries must provide Ukraine with clear and strong security guarantees. NATO membership will remain the cheapest guarantee of our security."
Coordination with Europe: "A more advanced version of the US plan is being discussed. But no peace treaty will be concluded without the participation of our European partners. Now we are coordinating our positions in cooperation with France, Germany, and other leaders."
Waiting for US signals: "We are waiting for the signals that the US delegation will send us after the talks in Moscow. The next steps will depend on this data. I am ready to meet with Donald Trump, but this will be decided based on the results of the negotiations."
