
Thailand has lifted the 50-year ban on selling alcoholic beverages from 14:00 to 17:00. The government has relaxed old laws, allowing restaurants to sell alcohol. These changes could help increase revenues by 20%.
The ban was once introduced by the "Revolutionary Committee" to prohibit state employees from consuming alcohol during work hours. However, considering the rapid development of Thailand's tourism sector, this restriction has been adapted to fit the socio-economic situation. In recent years, strict restrictions had led to complaints from tourists, with some forced to choose other countries for their vacations.
