Victory Parade begins on Red Square, heads of state gather

Today, May 9, a solemn military parade dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory Day began on Red Square. This was reported by Kommersant.
A number of heads of state, led by Vladimir Putin, are attending the ceremony. Among the guests are Alexander Lukashenko with his son Nikolai, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, ground forces, military academy cadets, and representatives of various military branches will march during the parade. Units that participated in military operations in Ukraine are also taking part.

Military aviation performances are expected to be the most spectacular part of the event. Aerobatic teams will demonstrate their skills in the Moscow sky. Finally, Su-25 aircraft are planned to display the colors of the Russian flag in the sky.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that a number of bilateral meetings for President Putin are also planned as part of the event.

Traditionally, the head of state will first deliver a solemn speech, then lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier together with the guests. Afterward, negotiations with foreign delegations will be held at the Kremlin.
