A psychic in Thailand stole a phone to "prove" a prophecy

In the city of Pattaya in Thailand, police detained 38-year-old fortune teller Udomsap Muangkai on charges of theft. The psychic allegedly stole an iPhone from his 19-year-old client named Pim to prove the accuracy of his own prediction about the upcoming troubles. This was reported by South China Morning Post.
The incident occurred near the Wat Chaimongkol royal temple. The girl, pitying the poorly dressed fortune teller, decided to consult him for a New Year's fortune-telling. During the session, Udomsap informed her that next year she would be unlucky and lose valuable property, and offered to prevent this for money. After Pim refused to pay, the fortune teller, according to the investigation, stole her smartphone.
Only after leaving did the girl discover the missing person and return to Udomsap. He denied any involvement, but with the help of passersby, Pim managed to detain him and call the police. The phone was found in the fortune teller's bag, hidden in a box of medical masks. His fortune-telling equipment was also seized on the spot.
According to police, ultimately Udomsap confessed to the theft, pleading with the victim not to file a complaint, citing her difficult financial situation and "first offense." The phone was returned to its owner, and the fortune teller was taken to the station for further investigation.
