Tokayev was officially invited to Trump's Peace Council

US President Donald Trump invited Kazakhstan and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Board of Peace, a new international structure being formed on his own initiative. This was announced by the aide and press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Zheldibay.

According to him, Tokayev was one of the first world leaders to receive an official invitation to join this council. It was also noted that Kazakhstan is considered one of the founding states. In response, the Kazakh leader expressed sincere gratitude to the US President and sent a letter expressing his consent to join the new association.

According to sources, Trump himself will chair the council, and who will be invited to membership will largely be at his discretion. The invited countries can remain members for up to three years. However, there is an important condition: if the state contributes more than $1 billion to the council's fund within the first year, permanent membership is guaranteed.

Interestingly, admission to the council is officially declared free. However, it is said that countries that have made significant financial contributions will have long-term - i.e., permanent - status without restrictions in practice. The collected funds are planned to be mainly directed to the restoration of the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip. The source notes that spending control will be strict, and the targeted use of "almost every dollar" will be monitored.

In accordance with the charter, the Council's decisions are made on the principle of "one state - one vote." However, it is determined that the final approval of all decisions will be carried out by the chairman. That is, there is a vote, but the "final point" will still be put by the chairman - this point can become the most discussed mechanism of the council.

It has been reported that Trump has sent proposals to several heads of state to establish a Gaza Peace Council. Argentina, Hungary, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Italy confirmed receiving the invitation and agreed to accept it. It is also reported that invitations have been sent to the leaders of France, Germany, and the UAE, but no official confirmation has yet been received from them.

In short, the new structure is beginning with big goals and large funds. Now the main question is whether this format will truly serve peace or "peace in name only," and in practice will become an arena of geopolitical disputes. Time will put everything in its place.
