International internet restrictions are being gradually lifted in Iran

According to diplomatic sources, Iran has begun lifting restrictions on international internet access, which had been in effect since the beginning of January. It is noted that the process is being carried out not all at once, but in stages.

The source noted that restrictions are being eased not only within the framework of the national internet platform, but also on the use of the international internet. The report states that the barriers imposed on the international internet since January 19 are being consistently removed. Also, in a letter to the relevant authorities, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that he demanded the lifting of restrictions to activate the internet market and ensure public access to the international internet.

Earlier, it was reported that after the sharp devaluation of the national currency, protests began on December 28, and they spread to at least 46 cities. On the evening of January 8, it was reported that the internet and mobile communication were cut off in the country, which sharply restricted access to information at the height of the situation.
