Fake ticket scheme in Vnukovo exposed: Uzbeks also suffered

A fraudulent scheme related to the illegal sale of air tickets, which had been operating for several years, was uncovered at Moscow's Vnukovo International Airport. It turned out that since 2014, unregistered air tickets have been sold through counterfeit ticket offices on the territory of the airport. As a result, foreign citizens, including citizens of Uzbekistan and Turkey, also suffered. This was reported by MK.RU.

According to the investigative authorities, the cashier accepted money from clients and issued documents not included in the official databases for actual flights. In some cases, the proceeds were temporarily spent on other needs, and then the actual tickets were purchased again. Thus, the fraud remained unsolved for a long time.

However, in the subsequent period, this scheme was disrupted, and more than 20 clients lost both money and air tickets. After the victims appealed to law enforcement agencies, the criminal situation was revealed.

The Solntsevsky District Court of Moscow found the defendant guilty in this case and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

Experts advise citizens to purchase air tickets only through official ticket offices, official airline websites, or reliable online platforms. Otherwise, there is a high risk of falling into the trap of fraudsters.
