The US wants peace until June: the next round may take place in Miami

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US administration aims to end the war by early summer - that is, by June - and proposes a negotiation plan similar to a "schedule of concrete steps" in this direction.
According to the president, Washington has put forward a new "energy truce" initiative - the idea of not striking energy facilities. Kyiv has agreed to this proposal, but it is said that the Russian side will respond later.
The idea of a meeting sounded for the first time in Miami
The most noteworthy point is that the next round could take place in Miami. According to Zelenskyy, the US has for the first time invited a meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian negotiating groups on American territory, and this meeting may take place in about a week. Ukraine's participation has already been confirmed.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that a new round would be held "soon," but his statement also noted that there was no mention of the meeting taking place in the US.
The hardest points are still on the table
Zelenskyy also touched upon the most difficult issues that have remained unresolved during the negotiations. According to him, some "nodes" may be discussed in the format of a possible trilateral meeting of leaders with the participation of Ukraine-USA-Russia.
The territorial dispute remains the same: while Russia demands control over the entire territory in the Donetsk region, Ukraine has reaffirmed that it considers the principle of "stay where we are" the most reliable option for a ceasefire.
At the same time, it is said that the US proposed the creation of a free economic zone in Donbas as a compromise option. However, neither Ukraine nor Russia strongly supports this idea - everyone has their own "red line" and that line hasn't faded yet.
Another major unresolved question is the future of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It has also been stated that there is currently no common solution in this direction.
Trump's signal is strong, and the calendar is clear
Against this backdrop, Donald Trump is also openly hinting that "results are needed by summer": according to Zelenskyy, the US side may also activate pressure mechanisms to reach an agreement by June.
The conclusion is this: there is a plan, the square (Mayami) is being mentioned, and principled consent to the "energy truce" has been expressed. Now the most important question is one - when and how the Russian side will give an answer. Because in diplomacy, the phrase "we'll say later" sometimes turns out to be a pause, and sometimes a tactical barrier.
