Checking counterfeit goods through a mobile application has become easier in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, customers can now independently check whether the product is counterfeit or genuine - directly by phone. According to the press service of the eGOV.kz portal, the eGov Mobile application has added the function of checking goods with a digital code.

The new feature is developed on the basis of the Naqty Onim service and provides fast, convenient, and free access to data in the digital marking system. That is, the answer to the question "is there confidence or not" is no longer the small font at the edge, but the code itself.

At the same time, it is possible to check several categories with a high risk of counterfeiting:

  • medicines,
  • tobacco products,
  • Shoes.

The procedure is also simple: if you scan the Data Matrix code on the product, the app will display information about the product's authenticity, manufacturer, release date, and main features. This will help the buyer make a quick and accurate decision without encountering a "deceiver."

Important point: the verification function works for goods requiring mandatory digital marking and containing the Data Matrix code. When examining medicines, it is especially important that they are officially included in this category - that is, not any "tablet," but the medicine registered in the system.

In short, Kazakhstan has taken a new step of "counterfeit protection" for the buyer: one scan - and the truth about the product becomes clearer.
