On February 22 of this year, while watching the match between Atalanta and Napoli within the Italian Serie A, a family conflict ended in a tragic incident. This match was held as part of the Serie A competition.
According to local law-enforcement authorities, a 40-year-old man was watching the match at home on television. After the VAR system cancelled the decision to award a penalty in favor of Napoli, he became highly emotional and loudly shouted insulting words in front of the screen.
His 35-year-old wife, who was nearby, perceived the words as being directed at her. As a result, a verbal argument began between the spouses and, in a short time, it turned into a physical confrontation.
It is reported that the woman first threw scissors at her husband and then stabbed him in the side with a kitchen knife. Police officers who arrived at the scene recorded several stab wounds on the man’s body.
The victim was urgently taken to hospital and was provided with the necessary medical assistance. Doctors stated that his life is not in danger.
The woman was detained, and pre-investigation procedures are being conducted in connection with the incident.
