The Israeli military launched an airstrike on the «Ramada» hotel located in the central part of the Lebanese capital, Beirut. According to Reuters, citing the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the attack resulted in four deaths and ten injuries of varying severity. This event was recorded as the first strike on central Beirut amid military clashes that have been ongoing since last week.
The Israel Defense Forces stated that the strike targeted high-ranking commanders of the «Quds» force. According to an official statement from Tel Aviv, these individuals were involved in planning attacks against Israel. The military emphasizes that all necessary measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties.
It is worth noting that the «Hizbulloh» group escalated the situation in the region last week by launching rocket and drone attacks on Israeli territory. The actions of this Iran-backed group are viewed as a response to strikes by Israel and the US across Iran. In retaliation, Israel launched large-scale military operations in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as in areas surrounding the capital. According to official data, the ongoing clashes have resulted in nearly 300 deaths, and hundreds of thousands of civilians have been forced to flee their homes.
