Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that cooperation between Tehran and Moscow is neither new nor a secret. He stated this on March 8 in an interview with NBC News while responding to questions about the assistance Russia is providing to Iran amid tensions with the US. Reports tengrinews.kz.
The minister confirmed that the Russian side is cooperating with Iran in many areas, but did not give a clear answer to the question of whether Russian intelligence services are helping to identify US military facilities. Araghchi added that he does not have detailed information on this matter.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Russia is providing Iran with intelligence to strike American troops in the Middle East. The publication claims that Moscow is thus indirectly participating in the war between the US and Israel against Iran. According to sources, since February 28, Russia may have been transmitting data on the locations of American ships and aircraft.
So far, the extent of Russia's assistance in identifying missile targets is not fully clear. However, analysts note that since the start of hostilities, Iran's own capability to identify targets has decreased.
