Iran attacks Gulf states after US strikes

On March 12, 2026, combined forces from the United States and Israel continued their military operations against Iranian internal security and defense targets. The strikes focused on key facilities used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Basij forces, and local law enforcement, which play significant roles in the country's internal security. The Israeli Defense Forces specifically targeted the Taleghan 2 site at the Parchin military complex. This location, previously associated with Iran's suspended nuclear weapons program, had been undergoing reconstruction and fortification after being damaged in an earlier airstrike.

In addition to security bases, the joint operation hit several defense industrial zones and airbases across Iran. These included missile and drone production facilities in Tehran and Esfahan, as well as tactical airbases in Khuzestan and Fars provinces. The goal of these strikes is to significantly reduce Iran's ability to launch retaliatory aerial attacks.

In response to the ongoing bombardment, Iran has launched a series of drone attacks against neighboring Gulf States. Recent targets included a hotel in Dubai, the Kuwait International Airport, and fuel facilities in Bahrain, while Saudi Arabian forces successfully intercepted multiple incoming drones.
