Israel launches targeted land operation in southern Lebanon

The State Army of Israel has officially announced the launch of a limited and targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon. This was reported in a statement by SAHAL (IDF - Israel Defense Forces).

The statement emphasized that the main objective of the operation is to act against Hezbollah's strongholds and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. Through this, Israel aims to strengthen its frontal defense zone, destroy terrorist infrastructure, and limit the activities of militants. These measures are also aimed at creating an additional layer of security for the population of northern Israel.

The escalation of the events intensified after the missile strike on Israel by Hezbollah on March 2. Later, Israel launched heavy air and artillery strikes on Lebanese territory. According to Reuters, hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon have been forced to leave their homes due to excessive military actions, and the death toll has risen sharply.

Sakhal described Hezbollah as an organization that joined the war with Iranian support and emphasized that Israel would not allow it to pose a threat to civilians. At the same time, officials stated that the operation was limited and targeted, focusing only on necessary facilities and infrastructure.

Experts believe this action could further exacerbate the political and military situation in the region, but it is a necessary measure for Israel to protect its northern populations and strategic territories. Thus, the practice is aimed not only at combating terrorism, but also at ensuring the safety of the local population.
