Trump warned Iran over South Pars

US President Donald Trump said Washington had no prior knowledge of Israel’s strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field and insisted that Qatar had no role in the attack. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Doha was not involved in any way and had no idea the operation would take place. Reports Tengrinews.kz.

Trump also said Israel would not carry out further attacks on the major gas field unless Iran chooses to strike Qatar. He warned that if Iran attacks what he called an innocent Qatar, the United States would respond by destroying the entire South Pars field, with or without Israel’s support or approval.

The latest escalation in the Middle East began after Israeli forces hit facilities linked to the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf. The attack drew condemnation from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, both of which criticized Israel’s airstrikes.

Iran later responded by attacking Qatar’s largest gas processing plant and naming additional targets in neighboring Arab countries. The growing confrontation has raised fears of wider regional instability and pushed energy markets higher, with oil prices rising after the strike on the Iranian gas field.
