Against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, US officials have issued important statements regarding the results of military operations against Iran. According to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, during the war American forces managed to completely destroy Iran’s missile production infrastructure.
According to him, this operation was a central and priority part of the US military mission. “We have almost completely dismantled Iran’s defense industry. They can no longer produce missiles,” Hegseth stated firmly. He also added that Iran has been deprived not only of the ability to produce missiles, but also other types of advanced weapons.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kane also commented on the situation, stating that the US military is ready for any scenario. According to him, if Donald Trump gives the appropriate order, strikes against Iran could resume immediately after the ceasefire agreement expires.
“To be clear: the ceasefire is only a temporary pause. The armed forces remain in full combat readiness,” Kane said. This means that the situation in the region is still unstable and could escalate again at any moment.
Hegseth supported this view as well, emphasizing that US troops remain on constant high alert. According to him, the US military is closely monitoring the situation and analyzing how well Iran is complying with the ceasefire. “We are not going anywhere. We are ready to act at any moment,” he said.
Earlier, on April 7, Donald Trump announced that the United States had achieved all of its military objectives and declared a two-week ceasefire agreement. According to him, under this agreement Iran agreed to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic.
However, Tehran is interpreting the situation differently. Iranian officials are presenting the ceasefire as their victory, claiming that Washington has effectively acknowledged Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
It is worth recalling that the war began on February 28 with powerful strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran. As reported, these attacks resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with dozens of high-ranking officials of the regime. In response, Tehran launched missile and drone strikes against Israel, Persian Gulf states, and US facilities in the region.
In short, although a ceasefire is currently in place, the situation remains in a “pause” mode. In other words, the game is not over yet — only the first half has ended. What happens next will depend on political decisions and military actions.
