A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred off the northeastern coast of Japan. The country's meteorological agency promptly issued a tsunami warning for several coastal regions.
The earthquake was recorded in the Pacific region, near Ivate Prefecture, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The time indicated 12:53 local time.
According to authorities, the height of the tsunami waves can reach up to 3 meters. Ivate, Aomori, Miyagi, and southern Hokkaido have been designated as major risk zones.
