The armed attack in Shreveport, Louisiana, ended in a major tragedy. According to preliminary data, at least eight minors were killed and two others were injured as a result of the shooting.
ABC News reports that the incident was confirmed with reference to local police.
It is reported that the gunman opened fire on houses in several different neighborhoods. As a result, children aged 1 to 14 were killed, some of whom are said to be related to the suspect.
After the attack, the suspect stole a car and attempted to flee the scene. Police attempted to stop him in the city of Bossier, and the suspect was ultimately killed in a shootout.
State detectives and law enforcement agencies are currently working to establish all the details of the incident.
