The horrific bloody incident in Turkey's Kahramanmaraş province continues with new details. Pınar Peyman Mersinli, the mother of 16-year-old İso Aras Mersinli, who carried out an armed attack on a school and took the lives of 9 innocent people, has been officially arrested. According to the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the woman is considered indirectly responsible for the tragedy due to her negligence regarding serious problems with her son's mental state and her disregard for doctors' strict instructions.
Doctors warned, mother stayed silent
As a result of this terrible attack at Ayser Çalık Middle School, one teacher and 8 other people were killed, and 21 citizens sustained injuries of varying degrees. According to the Prosecutor's Office statement, the mother's negligence towards her child was the primary reason for her arrest.
It was determined that specialists from state and private medical institutions examined the teenager long before the incident and made a definitive diagnosis. Although two psychologists emphasized that İso Aras needed immediate treatment in a child psychiatry department, Pınar Peyman Mersinli, who works as a teacher, did not take these recommendations into account.
Court ruling: Negligence leads to crime
Considering the negligence in the suspect's actions and the extreme severity of the consequences, the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a request for her arrest. The duty judge issued a decision to detain Pınar Peyman Mersinli on charges of "causing death by negligence."
A comprehensive investigation and inquiry into this bloody incident are currently ongoing.
