Number of billionaires to surge by 2031

The process of global wealth accumulation is accelerating. According to international analysis, the number of billionaires is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
According to current data, there are more than 3,000 billionaires in the world today. Over the next five years, this figure could rise by nearly 25 percent, approaching 4,000. Simultaneously, the number of multi-millionaires—individuals with at least $30 million in assets—is also growing rapidly.
Experts believe this growth is primarily driven by high profits in technology, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. New opportunities are facilitating business expansion and creating conditions for amassing vast wealth in a short period.
Analysis shows that growth is particularly rapid in certain countries. Specifically, the number of billionaires in Middle Eastern and European nations is projected to increase severalfold.
However, this trend is further deepening the gap between the rich and the poor in society. According to some reports, a very small number of individuals possess wealth several times greater than that of a large portion of the global population.
Consequently, experts emphasize the need to revise tax policies regarding the ultra-wealthy. There are growing concerns that major capital owners are increasing not only their economic influence but also their political power.
Currently, Elon Musk leads the rankings of the world's wealthiest people, followed by Larry Page and Jeff Bezos.
According to the analysis, the geography of wealth may also shift in the coming years, with leadership expected to gradually move toward the Asian region.
