From today, the recycling fee for electric vehicles has increased significantly
Starting from May 1, Uzbekistan has significantly increased the disposal fees for the import of electric vehicles. This was stipulated in a resolution signed by the Prime Minister on January 31 of this year.

According to the document, the previous fee for electric vehicles that are no more than 3 years old has increased by 4 times, from 30 basic calculation amounts (11 million 250 thousand soums) to 120 basic calculation amounts (45 million soums).

Also, the fee for electric vehicles that are more than 3 years old has increased by 2.3 times. Now, instead of 90 basic calculation amounts (33 million 750 thousand soums), they will have to pay 210 basic calculation amounts, that is, 78 million 750 thousand soums.

A video circulating on social networks clearly shows these changes using the example of customs clearance costs for a BYD Song Plus Champion electric car. According to it, from May 1, the customs duty for this type of electric car will be 937 thousand soums, and the 12% value added tax will be 37 million 923 thousand soums. As a disposal fee, as noted above, 45 million soums will be paid. As a result, the total customs costs for importing this electric car will amount to 83 million 860 thousand soums.

According to the resolution, a procedure for the effective use of these disposal fees was to be developed within two months. However, there has been no official announcement yet about whether this procedure has been developed or what form it will take. Against the background of the increase in recycling fees, there is a growing interest among the population in changes in the field of electric transport.
