Automotive expert Sergey Zinovyev from Za Rulem magazine has identified 7 key downsides of the Chevrolet Spark, reports Auto.Mail.ru:
Fragile suspension system — lasts 80–100k km on good roads, but quickly wears out on poor roads (ball joints, bearings, shock absorbers, CV joints). Rear springs sag over time.
Weak steering mechanism — prone to failure.
Exhaust components rust quickly, especially in salty winter conditions; holes may appear in 2–3 years.
The B10D1 1.0L engine (68 hp) is simple, but known for issues with idle control valves, thermostats, and ignition coils.
Spark plug replacement is complicated — air filter and intake manifold must be removed.
Suspension should be inspected thoroughly before buying.
Though it’s a budget car, maintenance may be frequent and costly. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
