Janos Kovach appointed CEO of UzAuto Motors

Janos Kovach has been appointed CEO of UzAuto Motors, gazeta.uz reported.

Born in Hungary, Kovach graduated from the Budapest University of Technology with a degree in automotive engineering. He has held executive positions at major companies including General Motors, Opel, GM Powertrain Uzbekistan, UzAuto Peugeot Citroën Automotive, and VinFast Automotive.

Throughout his career, he has specialized in quality control, production optimization, and plant management. Since 2021, he has served as a member of the supervisory board and audit committee of UzAuto Motors.

He replaces Bo Andersson, who led UzAuto Motors and UzAuto Motors Powertrain for three years before stepping down in December 2024. Under Andersson’s leadership, the company produced 395,400 vehicles in 2023 — a 20% increase over the previous year.
