The use of phonograms in concert-performance events will be gradually limited.
The government resolution “On additional measures to further encourage live performance in concert-performance activities” has been adopted.
In accordance with the resolution, from May 1, 2025:
- the use of phonograms in all concert-performance events financed from the state budget and extra-budgetary funds will be gradually limited;
- advertisements for concert-performance events must clearly indicate “Live performance”, “Live sound using phonograms” or “Concert program with phonograms”, respectively;
- When recommending artists for the state awards "People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan", "Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "People's Commissar of the Republic of Uzbekistan", the Ministry of Culture primarily takes into account their ability to perform live.
From July 1, 2025:
- for broadcasting advertisements for concert-performance events organized with live performance on television and radio channels of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting System of Uzbekistan, the event organizer will be given a 30% discount;
- concert-performance events organized with live performance and partial use of the phonogram will be broadcast free of charge on television and radio channels of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting System of Uzbekistan based on a positive conclusion of the Artistic Council of the relevant television and radio channel.
