
Uzbek singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev was fined for using another author's poems without permission, reported UPL.uz.
According to the press service of the Intellectual Property Department, action was taken regarding a violation of copyright law.
Officials from the Ministry of Justice found that singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev illegally used poems written by another author. Specifically, he used the works “Yurak,” “Meni deb oqardi sochlarning ona,” “Ko‘zlaringni qizg‘anma mendan,” and “Barchasini Xudoga soldim,” all written by Shohruh Abduvohidov, without the author’s consent or any contractual agreement.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the singer under the article “Violation of copyright and related rights” in Uzbekistan’s Administrative Liability Code. The Dangara District Criminal Court ruled to fine the offender. The fine amount was not specified, but it may range from 1 to 5 base calculation units (375,000 to 1,875,000 UZS).
