For fans of Indian comedies and dance scenes, the name Mithun Chakraborty is familiar. His full name is Gourang Chakraborty. He was born on June 16, 1950 in Bengal and stepped onto the Bollywood stage in the 1970s.

In 1979, Mithun married actress Yogita Bali. Together they raised four children: three sons — Mimoh (Mahaakshay), Ushmey, Namashi — and an adopted daughter, Dishani.

His eldest son Mimoh also became an actor.

Mithun is known as a family man and often emphasizes that he enjoys spending time with his children.

Since his youth, Mithun was interested in sports, and while studying at university, he practiced professional karate. He holds a black belt.

Mithun Chakraborty is not only an actor but also a politician and entrepreneur. He has also been involved in various charity activities and supported several schools and orphanages for poor children.

The film that made Mithun world-famous was “Disco Dancer” (1982). His dances and attractive songs became a real sensation not only in India but also in the Soviet Union.
