For the famous singer and film actor Jahongir Poziljonov, this year brought one of the unforgettable events. On August 23, by a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
In the decree, it was noted that the artist was granted this high recognition on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence for his contribution to strengthening the independence of the Motherland and his participation in the reforms being carried out in building New Uzbekistan. At the same time, his bright talent, work on stage, and songs that left an indelible mark in the hearts of the people were specially valued.
Jahongir Poziljonov was born on March 4, 1978, in the city of Tashkent in a family of cooks. His musical path began with great interest and diligence, and songs such as “Ey, sanam,” “Do not cry, love,” “Only, life, do not make my children cry” made him widely known among the people. In addition to his musical creativity, his acting skills appeared in a number of films — “Boyvachcha” (The Rich Man), “Bitter Life,” “Shomurod and Durdona.”
However, there were also difficult days in his life. In 2009, while returning from a concert of the “Bojalar” group in Termez, a car accident occurred. This tragedy became a heavy loss for the world of art: singer Mumin Oripov died, and Jahongir Poziljonov was taken to the hospital in serious condition and remained in a coma for several days.
Nevertheless, he did not stop his creative path. In 2014, his song “Toylar Muborak” (“Congratulations on Weddings”) was awarded the “Song of the Year – 2014” prize. This was proof of his return to even greater heights of the stage.
Today Jahongir Poziljonov is valued not only for his stage performances but also for his humanity and closeness to the people. His creativity inspires many young people, and every one of his songs directly reaches the hearts of listeners.
Undoubtedly, today’s honorary title connected with him is not only a personal achievement but also a joyful event for all national art. The work of this beloved and popular artist, his life dedicated to the stage, has been worthily recognized.
