Uzbek Artist's Exhibition Draws Great Interest in Venice

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, attended the opening of a solo exhibition by Uzbek artist Vyacheslav Akhunov in Italy, organized as part of the 61st Venice Biennale. The exhibition, titled "Instruments of the Mind," is being held at the Palazzo Franchetti in Venice.
This event marks a significant milestone for contemporary Uzbek art, as the Venice Biennale is one of the most prestigious and influential platforms in the global art scene. Showcasing the work of an Uzbek artist on such a stage demonstrates the growing international recognition of our national art school.

On her Telegram channel, Saida Mirziyoyeva described Vyacheslav Akhunov as one of the leading figures of conceptual art. She emphasized that the exhibition clearly demonstrates the artist's breadth of thought, imagination, and ability to express complex ideas through art.
"Akhunov is one of the leading figures of conceptual art. This exhibition clearly shows how vast his range of thought and imagination is," wrote Saida Mirziyoyeva.
It is noted that the "Instruments of the Mind" project covers nearly half a century of the artist's work. The exposition includes works created by Vyacheslav Akhunov over various years, including rare pieces from the 1970s that have not been widely exhibited until now.

This aspect further increases the value of the exhibition, as viewers have the opportunity to see not just certain stages of an artist's work, but his artistic explorations, intellectual shifts, and creative path spanning nearly half a century in their entirety.
Akhunov's work is not limited to simple imagery or form. Ideas, symbols, memory, social perspectives, and complex processes occurring in the human mind play an important role in his works. Therefore, the name "Instruments of the Mind" was not chosen by chance. This exhibition invites visitors not only to see art but to think about, feel, and re-perceive it.

Saida Mirziyoyeva assessed this exhibition as another bright proof that Uzbekistan's artistic potential is being worthily reflected in the global art arena. In her view, through contemporary art, Uzbekistan is engaging in a dialogue with the world and reaching many hearts.
"This is another bright proof that Uzbekistan's artistic potential is communicating with the world through contemporary art and capturing many hearts," concluded Saida Mirziyoyeva.
In general, Vyacheslav Akhunov's solo exhibition in Venice is a great recognition for our national art. It is not only an assessment of one artist's work but also attention directed toward Uzbekistan's culture, creative thinking, and its place in contemporary art. A thought expressed in the language of art is sometimes more powerful than a diplomatic speech—this exhibition in Venice proves exactly that.
