Homes in Italy offered for €1

Ten municipalities in Italy's Vicenza province have launched a project offering dilapidated homes for just one euro to revitalize depopulated mountain villages. Part of the "Pnrr Green Communities" program, the initiative has already received 78 formal offers from both domestic and international buyers for the first 24 available properties. Local officials, including Mayor Mosè Squarzon, emphasize that the project is an "investment in life" aimed at restoring the social fabric of these historic areas rather than a mere real estate transaction. The final list of approved buyers, who will be responsible for renovating the structures, is expected to be announced in early May.
