Uzbekistan sold $3.57B worth of gold since start of 2025
Uzbekistan has sold billions of dollars’ worth of gold since the beginning of 2025, reported nova24.uz citing the National Statistics Committee.

From January to March, the country’s foreign trade turnover reached $17.3 billion, up 8.6% compared to 2024. Exports grew by 24.4% to $8.1 billion, while imports fell by 2.3% to $9.2 billion.

As a result, the negative trade balance narrowed to $1.09 billion.

Gold exports reached $3.57 billion — 34% higher than the same period in 2024. Gold’s share of total exports rose from 40.9% to 44%.

Meanwhile, the physical volume of gold in reserves declined, but its value soared due to record-high prices.

Excluding gold, overall export growth would only amount to 3.5%.
