The Central Bank announced the official exchange rates of foreign currencies for May 13. According to them, the US dollar has resumed its growth after a decline in recent days.
In particular, the US currency rose by 15.20 soums compared to the previous day, and the official rate was set at 12,895.55 soums. This is the first increase after the dollar has been declining for three consecutive days. It should be recalled that earlier the dollar rate fell to 12,880.35 soums. The currency last fell below 12,900 soums on April 23 and has not risen higher since then.
The European currency, on the contrary, fell significantly. The value of one euro against the soum fell by 196.91 soums, amounting to 14,338.56 soums. Such a sharp decline in the euro exchange rate on the foreign exchange market was one of the largest changes observed this week.
The Russian ruble also appreciated against the Uzbek soum. The official exchange rate of the ruble increased by 2.70 soums and was recorded at 159.38 soums.
According to experts, these changes in exchange rates are related to the situation in the international financial market, oil prices and global economic processes. In particular, the volatility in world markets in recent days continues to be reflected in the Uzbek foreign exchange market.
