
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to implement the project “Development of the value chain of Uzbekistan in the dairy sector (phase 2)” with the participation of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. This resolution is an important step towards further development of the value chain in the dairy sector and increasing the well-being of the population.
In accordance with the adopted resolution, the following were identified as the main goals and objectives of the project:
- Organization of 100 modern milk collection points serving 12 thousand residents and peasant farms engaged in dairy production in 320 makhallas in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya, Samarkand and Surkhandarya regions;
- Providing preferential loans of up to 250 thousand US dollars each to 865 residents and peasant farms for the establishment and modernization of dairy processing enterprises;
- Creation and launch of the innovative National Dairy Platform software, which will connect dairy producers and buyers.
This project will be implemented over 7 years (2025–2031), and as a result of these efforts, it is expected that the country's dairy sector will reach a new level, increasing employment, incomes and dairy production.
According to experts, this project will allow the introduction of modern technologies in the dairy sector, increasing the competitiveness of local dairy products in domestic and foreign markets.
