New customs restrictions: the value of imported goods reduced
In Uzbekistan, customs rules for passengers have become even stricter. Based on the new order of the Minister of Economy and Finance, a number of changes have been made to the instruction on filling out and processing the passenger customs declaration. These innovations will be introduced starting from next month and will affect all passengers.

One of the main changes is the significant reduction in the value of goods imported for personal needs. Now, the total value of goods that can be brought in for personal use through international airports is limited not to 2000, but to 1000 US dollars. Through railway and river borders, this amount has been reduced from 1000 to 500 dollars.

These changes are primarily aimed at strengthening control over citizens who try to bring in surplus or commercial goods. At the same time, there is also news regarding jewelry: now the previous restrictions on importing up to 65 grams of jewelry, with a value not exceeding 2000 dollars, have been abolished.

There are also more precise restrictions on the volume and type of goods. For example, each passenger may bring in no more than 3 units of perfume or fragrance water, but the total volume must not exceed 300 milliliters. New norms have been introduced for tobacco products: now it is allowed to bring in not 10 packs, but 200 cigarettes, 5 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco.

Also, in some cases, the duty-free import norms do not apply. If a passenger returns from the territory of a foreign state through railway, river or automobile borders in less than two calendar days, or through an international airport in less than three calendar days, the list of goods eligible for benefits is limited only to personal needs. If goods are brought in three or more times within a month, the duty-free norms are automatically canceled.

Officials emphasize that these changes are aimed at protecting the country's economy, preventing illegal turnover of goods and forming a fair competitive environment in the market. Through this, each passenger will be able to strictly observe customs rules and clearly feel the boundary between personal needs and commerce.

In particular, the new regulations have also caused significant discussions on social networks. Citizens, on the one hand, point out that these restrictions create inconvenience for them; on the other hand, they believe that this measure is justified for protecting the internal market and national economy.

In conclusion, it can be said that the new customs restrictions serve to ensure order and transparency in our country, as well as to support a fair competitive environment. Citizens must remember that every time they cross the border, additional vigilance and responsibility are required.
