Dubai-based Envirol will implement a $50 million environmental project in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the project, special filters will be installed in public catering establishments for the purification of oils from wastewater. With the help of this system, waste fats are separated and converted into products such as household soap and biofuel.
According to the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Khidoyatov, Envirol is entering the project as an investor. If excess oil currently damages wastewater infrastructure, the new technology will help eliminate this problem.
According to current legislation, each liter of wastewater should contain no more than 1 milligram of oil. However, this requirement was not met due to the lack of filters. From July 1, 2026, only kitchens with a filter will be able to connect to the water supply system.
For reference, Envirol was founded in Dubai in 2006 and currently processes more than 500,000 liters of waste oil per day.
