Has the presence of a crocodile in the Great Fergana Canal been confirmed?

Reports have circulated on social media claiming that crocodiles have appeared in the Great Fergana Canal. After this information sparked various discussions among citizens, the responsible authorities conducted an investigation into the situation.
Officials from the Namangan Regional Emergency Situations Department and the Uchkurgan District Emergency Situations Department conducted an on-site inspection of the section of the Great Fergana Canal flowing through the Uchkurgan district. Specifically, the canal areas surrounding the Guliston, Paxtachi, Tegirmon, and Birlik neighborhoods were examined.
According to the results of the investigation, no crocodiles or similar dangerous animals were found in the canal. Therefore, the reports circulating on social media have not been confirmed at this time.
The Namangan Regional Emergency Situations Department has asked the public not to believe unfounded and unverified information. Citizens are advised to rely only on information from official sources in such situations.
