Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held talks with Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Mullo Abdul Ghani Baradar, who arrived in Tashkent on February 22.
According to the press service of the head of the Uzbek government, it was noted at the meeting that mutual relations are based on the principles of friendship, cooperation and good neighborliness, and that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays special attention to the development of constructive and mutually beneficial relations with Afghanistan in all areas.
“In recent years, relations between our countries in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres have been consistently developing. The opening of the Termez International Trade Center last year serves to develop bilateral trade.
"During the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views was held on issues of further expanding mutually beneficial relations, the consistent development of cooperation in trade and economic, energy, transport and other areas," the official release said.
The Afghan delegation's visit will continue on February 23. The visit program also includes familiarization with the activities of a number of production facilities in Tashkent.
