A citizen who illegally kept a rare bird in Fergana region was detained, the Ministry of Ecology reports.
According to it, the Environmental Control Inspectorate of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change revealed through social networks that citizen I.I. was illegally keeping and selling a peregrine falcon.
In connection with the case, the Fergana Regional Ecology Department, the regional Internal Affairs Department and the regional prosecutor's office took measures to stop the violation and the violator was detained.
For information, the peregrine falcon is a bird belonging to the falcon family and is included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. In accordance with Appendix 14 to Resolution No. 290 of the Cabinet of Ministers of October 20, 2014, for illegal extraction from nature, a fine of 1,500 times the minimum wage (562 million 500 thousand soums) is imposed, and since the amount of damage exceeds 300 times the minimum wage, the case will be considered by law enforcement agencies in a criminal procedure.
