Uzbekistan and Afghanistan plan to increase trade volume to $3 billion

The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with the Minister of Trade of Afghanistan Nuruddin Azizi in Surkhandarya region, the press service of the ministry reported.

The delegation led by Laziz Kudratov and Nuruddin Azizi visited the Termez International Trade Center in Surkhandarya region. The meeting discussed the current state of Uzbek-Afghan trade and economic relations and prospects for their development.

“During the conversation, specific measures were identified to increase the volume of mutual trade to $3 billion,” the report says.
It is reported that, along with trade, the next steps were considered to expand mutually beneficial cooperation and industrial cooperation in the fields of agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, food and mining.

As part of the visit, B2B negotiations were organized with the participation of about 60 entrepreneurs from both sides. During the visit, representatives of business circles had the opportunity to establish new contacts, discuss practical aspects of implementing new joint projects and trade agreements.
