Uzbekistan is actively strengthening cooperation with the United States in the field of migration policy and repatriation of citizens, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
It was noted that within the framework of the bilateral agreements reached, a special charter flight will be organized on April 30 on the New York-Tashkent route to repatriate Uzbek citizens who are illegally present in the United States and are included in the list of foreigners subject to deportation.
This repatriation initiative is aimed at ensuring the rights of Uzbek citizens who have found themselves in a difficult situation abroad and will be implemented within the framework of international norms, obligations and human rights. We are talking about citizens who have violated visa requirements or have overstayed their legal stay in the United States. The repatriation process is organized on the basis of humanitarian and legal principles, ensuring the dignified and safe return of citizens.
The organization of the charter flight is being carried out in close cooperation with the consular and migration services of the two countries. All measures are being taken with maximum respect for the rights of the citizens being repatriated and in strict compliance with the current legislation of Uzbekistan and the United States.
“This step is part of Uzbekistan’s comprehensive policy aimed at regulating migration flows, ensuring the legal protection, social and legal integration of its citizens abroad, and facilitating their return to their homeland in safe and humane conditions.
Uzbekistan continues to develop its migration policy and seeks to support and protect its citizens in any situation,” the report says.
