The explosion tragedy that occurred at a scrap metal collection point in the Yangiarik district of the Khorezm region has raised various questions among the general public. As a result of this incident, the explosion, which claimed the life of a 31-year-old local citizen, according to the results of a preliminary investigation, occurred without the participation of military personnel.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued an official statement on this matter, emphasizing that military personnel had absolutely no involvement in this explosion. According to the ministry's statement, the exploded shell was arbitrarily dug out of the underground area by local shepherds and later handed over as scrap metal.
The statement of the Ministry of Defense reads as follows: “Citizens who come across any suspicious objects or weapons are required to immediately contact law enforcement agencies to ensure their safety. In this case, these conditions were not observed, as a result of which a tragic incident occurred. There is no such type of shell among the weapons used by the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, and it was manufactured approximately in the 1970s.”
A full and thorough investigation has been launched by the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan into this case. The goal is to establish all the details of the incident, as well as to develop specific measures to prevent such tragedies.
Similar cases have been observed in our country before. Therefore, the relevant organizations emphasize the importance of raising the public’s awareness of security issues. In particular, it is emphasized that any precautionary measures must be strictly observed in relation to weapons and shells found underground or handed over under suspicious circumstances.
The investigative bodies also call on the local population to follow security measures and refrain from any actions related to the illegal sale of weapons as scrap metal. Security and law enforcement agencies emphasize that the safety of citizens is a top priority and that public awareness campaigns in this area should be further strengthened.
After this tragedy, security measures have been tightened in the Khorezm region, and monitoring has been further intensified at all scrap metal collection points. Local administrations and law enforcement agencies are intensifying their explanatory work among the population. In this process, they plan to hold special seminars on safety, especially in schools, enterprises and neighborhoods.
We hope that this incident will serve as a serious lesson for everyone and will help prevent such incidents in the future. After all, preserving human life and ensuring a safe environment is our common duty. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
